Sex hormones occupy an important niche in female physiology. From a young age, they prepare the body for procreation, and when the female body has formed, they perform the main function - they help conceive, bear and give birth to a child. Over the years, the ability to conceive decreases due to a decrease in the production of female sex hormones. This is accompanied by an irregular menstrual cycle, fever, chills, irritability. Eventually, by about 50 years of age, menstruation disappears, and with it - the reproductive function.

Nature is nature, but the lifestyle, habitat and health of a woman make their own adjustments, and menopause can occur prematurely - before 45 years. A woman can recognize this by several signs.

Symptoms of early menopause

Early menopause is determined by the following symptoms:

  • interruptions in the menstrual cycle, up to the absence of menstruation for several months in a row;
  • more abundant or scanty, in comparison with the usual, menstrual flow;
  • hot flashes;
  • vaginal dryness;
  • urinary disorders;
  • emotional disorders (sudden mood swings, irritability, bouts of depression);
  • frequent drowsiness;
  • dry skin, mucous membranes of the eyes and mouth;
  • weakened libido.

If you are still far from 45 years old, but have the above-mentioned disorders of the body, hurry to see an endocrinologist or gynecologist.

Factors that provoke early menopause

Let's say the doctor diagnosed early menopause. "But why did this happen to me?", you ask. The causes of early menopause are as follows:

  • Heredity. If your mother had early menopause, the likelihood that you will suffer the same fate is quite high
  • Autoimmune diseases. If you suffer from a pathology affecting the thyroid gland or adrenal glands, for example, diabetes, you are at risk of early menopause
  • Smoking. This bad habit not only causes cancer, provokes cellulite and other ailments, but also negatively affects the female reproductive system. Research by French scientists has proven that more than 15% of women with early menopause smoked cigarettes
  • Stress and chronic fatigue. Constant nervous tension and lack of proper rest exhaust a woman's body and can also lead to early menopause
  • Strict nutrition. Frequent fasting and diets with a limited set of products at a young age help to lose weight and can pass without consequences. However, over time, a lack of nutrients in the body can provoke premature menopause and other health problems
  • Medical interventions. These include surgical removal of the ovaries, the use of radiation or chemotherapy, suppressing the ovaries in the treatment of oncology. These actions cause artificial menopause. Also, early menopause often occurs in women who have had their uterus removed: during the operation, the ovaries are injured, their blood circulation is disrupted, as a result of which the production of hormones is suspended.

The main thing is not to give up

Even early menopause is not a disaster, but a transition of the female body to a new stage of existence. By contacting an endocrinologist in time, you can restore the function of the ovaries through hormone replacement therapy. It is also advisable to change your lifestyle to help your body recover.

Recommendations for women that can significantly reduce the symptoms of early menopause and its complications:

  • High-quality nutrition. A woman's diet during early menopause should be balanced. It is worth eating vegetables, fruits, whole grain cereals more often and reducing the consumption of pork and other fatty meats. Eat dairy products, as well as mushrooms, salmon, eggs to replenish the calcium and vitamins D, B6 and B12.
  • Physical activity. Doctors recommend doing aerobics, yoga, swimming.
  • Giving up bad habits (smoking, alcohol).
  • Preventive examinations by an endocrinologist, gynecologist, cardiologist and orthopedist.
  • Get enough sleep and rest.

Early menopause is not a death sentence. See an endocrinologist in a timely manner, follow all the recommendations described, spend more time outdoors and in the company of friends. Communication and support will distract you from the symptoms of early menopause and help you overcome them.
