From the point of view of the history of the development of society, one century is a trifle. Such rapid changes in the rhythm of life cause an important nuance. Modern man is not fully prepared to face new health problems simply because there were no such ailments before. One of such characteristic disorders is information neurosis - a disease of the 21st century, which is not on a par with infectious dangerous diseases, but does not become less threatening for representatives of modern society.
The essence and characteristics of information diseases and neurosis in particular
Information neurosis refers to psychological disorders that are associated with a change in the rhythm of life of a modern person. By and large, we are talking about mental fatigue due to oversaturation of the information field in which a person works and spends leisure time day after day. The brain cannot cope with overloads, and this inevitably affects a person's well-being.
There are different information diseases, but neurosis stands out among them with its pronounced symptoms. Signs of this disorder can be:
- sleep disorders, including insomnia that torments a person;
- vague plotless nightmares (a night's rest does not add strength, and in the morning a person feels tired and broken);
- memory problems and lapses occur;
- sometimes headaches can begin.
It would seem that overfatigue due to too much information overload is not such a serious problem to cause such consequences. But as it turns out, an exhausting lifestyle can really undermine health. It is dangerous to treat such diseases lightly.
The symptoms that arise as a result of these disorders can significantly disrupt the functioning of various organ systems: the endocrine system is disrupted, metabolism is disrupted. Nerve cells suffer. Sleep problems inevitably affect work capacity, and information neurosis can also progress. Of course, a consultation with a neurologist and a course of treatment with him can correct the situation, but it would be wiser not to bring your body to such a state. Sleep problems are especially dangerous, since during this process the body seems to reboot, and does not turn off. That is, the nervous system comes to order, tunes in to a new productive period, and all organ systems switch to a different pace of work. If you allow information neurosis to disrupt the rhythm of sleep, this will lead to the formation of a certain vicious circle, in which a symptom of a mental disorder (insomnia) does not allow the body to independently move towards resolving this health problem. And this in turn can only worsen the patient's condition.
How to fight information neurosis
Unfortunately, certain psychological disorders that appear due to overwork are still perceived too frivolously by modern people. Medicine is still associated with something monumental and scientific, and diseases that are cured by psychotherapy and a healthy lifestyle are not taken seriously. This is a big mistake, because information neurosis can have a detrimental effect on the entire nervous system of a person, reduce the ability to work, and significantly affect the normal rhythm of life.
Nevertheless, making an appointment with a psychotherapist (until you have to go to a neurologist for help) and changing your rhythm of life at least partially is already serious progress.
At a mild stage, this disorder can be cured by reorganizing your time. You should isolate yourself from information flows, temporarily giving up television, books, the press, and, of course, the World Wide Web. You need to take a week's vacation and rest, redirecting all the load from the mental sphere to the physical. This should be done by walking and visiting the gym. Yoga and meditative Eastern practices will help a lot. If we are talking about a more advanced form of information neurosis, then you will have to change your lifestyle for a longer period of time - about a month. In this case, you should not only isolate yourself from information flows, but also, preferably, go to more remote corners, closer to nature. During such a vacation, healthy sleep, general well-being, and the state of the nervous system are usually restored.
In order to protect yourself from such unpleasant mental and nervous disorders in the future, you should not only adjust your lifestyle, but also take care of the correct diet. Products rich in vitamins C and B will help strengthen the nervous system. It is also very important to maintain a normal rhythm of life and timely, adequate rest.
